GEMARFIN
S.A. is a Swiss financial company specialised in the provision of operational
and related services to the owners of sea-going vessels, in the portfolio
management and in trust services. Our management team and organisational
structure dates back some 40 years and has its roots in the shipping
department of Overland Trust Bank. It developed and branched out so
that it is today able to provide an expert service in all aspects of
the ship industry and financial management.
Gemarfin
opened its Lugano office in November 1995 with the purpose of taking
over the operation and management of a fleet of vessels comprising oil
tankers, chemical tankers, dry cargo vessels, cattle vessels, ro-ro's,
ferries, etc. with range in size between 1’500 and 30’000 GRT.
In
discharging our managerial obligations, we place the utmost premium
on safety and commercial efficiency. Our management system, certified
as far as the ISM is concerned by the American Bureau of Shipping since
1998, boasts a particularly sophisticated and integrated communications
network, which enables us to maintain direct contact throughout between
the vessels and all the aspects of shore based management (safety, insurance,
maintenance, stores and supplies, commercial, etc.).
